Kiwassa Neighbourhood House offers programs for adults 55+ that encourage participation through peer support and provide a variety of activities that enhance well-being and connection to community. Come to Kiwassa to dance, play cards, do crafts, go on outings, volunteer, eat healthy lunches or chat with other seniors. We welcome everyone!

English Language Program


Learn and practice your English Language skills and meet other seniors in the neighbourhood.  We offer beginner, intermediate and advanced classes, and most run three times per week.

Blood Pressure and Sugar Check


Kiwassa is committed to keeping you well and offers no-cost blood pressure and blood sugar screenings on the second  Friday of every month.

Come dance with us!  We offer low impact, senior-led dance classes three times per week. Come on out and learn or fine-tune your line dancing skills.

Arts & Crafts


If you love to sew, stitch or knit, you will love the Seniors craft class.  This group crafts items to sell in our annual senior craft market, and makes blankets and teddy bears for needy children overseas.

Field Trips


We offer exciting Senior day trips on Thursdays from May to September.  Whether you want to spend a day strolling around Whistler Village or spend a day tiptoeing through the Tulip fields in Abbotsford, we have something for everyone.  Preregistration is required and the cost varies per trip.

$7 - $10, depending on the trip destination

Mah Jong


Every Friday morning, Seniors are welcome to drop by and play Mahjong; an interesting ancient Chinese game, which is a lot of fun as well as good exercise for the mind.  Make new friends in a fun environment!

Card Games


Every Friday afternoon we offer a space for Seniors to play card games.  The players decide what games they play each week, so bring your suggestions and perhaps teach a new game.
