Pathways to Employment and Transformative Learning

This fall, the EMPOW3R program celebrated milestones and marked a one-year anniversary of the program. Since the launch in September 2019, the EMPOW3R team has supported over 70 participants, mostly women, of diverse backgrounds in securing sustainable employment.

EMPOW3R is a unique program for individuals who have experienced and/or continue to experience trauma. The program aims to reduce personal barriers by providing educational, training and employment opportunities. Through a series group workshops and one-to-one meetings with staff over a 6-week period, participants are supported along their journey and towards transformative learning.

“I met so many wonderful women from different part of the world. I listened to their stories. It is really inspiring. It is a wonderful workshop for women. I enjoyed that we shared different life experiences, we learned about the Canadian culture, talked about mental health. The EmPOW3R staff are doing a great job.”
