Childcare

For over 30 years, Kiwassa has been providing nurturing, stimulating and inclusive childcare programs that help children progress in their social, emotional, physical and cognitive development, while enabling their parents and caregivers to participate in employment, education and other pursuits.

Our programs support children’s natural sense of curiosity, knowledge and confidence through play, stories, songs, field trips and educational activities including science, math and literacy. Our staff are trained and certified in Early Childhood Education and are committed to providing inclusive programs, with a focus on meeting the specific needs and interests of each group of children, and engaging in a responsive curriculum.

Waitlist/Enrollment Update:

We reviewed upcoming vacancies for September 2017 and have filled the available spaces.  If you have not heard from us, then unfortunately, we do not have a spot for your child at this time.  The next opportunity for enrollment will be in the summer, 2018 (occasionally there are openings during the year, and if so we will contact people on our waiting list).

As we cannot reply to individual requests about waiting list status, we invite you to check this web page to obtain the most current waitlist and enrollment information for our Daycare Centres.

How to enroll your child on our waitlist(s):

If you would like to be placed on the waiting list(s), please email the following information to childcare@kiwassa.ca:

  • Child’s name and date of birth
  • Parent’s name and contact info (email and phone number)
  • Name of preferred childcare centre and start date
  • Indicate whether full-time or part-time enrollment (if part-time, specify which days)
  • For out of school care, please indicate what school your child is attending and if you require before and after school care, or just before or after school care.

When you submit the above requested information, the reply email you receive from us is confirmation that your child has been added to the waitlist. We will be sure to contact you as soon as there is an enrollment opportunity for your child.

We respectfully request that you please do not call the Neighbourhood House or the individual childcare centres, so that staff can devote their time to attending to the needs of the children in the programs.
