Relevent, quality programs by and for our community.

There is a broad range of programs at Kiwassa for all who live and work in our neighbourhood: children, youth, adults, families, seniors, from all walks of life and representing our community’s diversity.   Our programs are free or as affordable as possible, and everyone is welcome.Volunteers and community partners play a huge role in making this possible. Our downloadable Program Guide will be ready and on this website in a few short weeks. Until then, please browse our website to find our program offerings, or drop in to visit!

Childcare Programs Kiwassa Neighbourhood House provides safe, quality child care in our  three daycares, preschool, and afterschool care program.

Children’s Programs We have many multicultural programs for children and families that bring our community together.

Youth Programs Programs for youth focus on youth empowerment, mentorship, education, and social and skill development, and fun!

Family Programs Families come in all shapes and sizes, and so do our programs that support parents and families. Come to parent workshops, support groups, and fun family activities.

Adult Programs Kiwassa is a safe and welcoming place for everyone  to connect with neighbours, find counseling, training, resources and information, enjoy a coffee, and give back to the community.

Seniors Programs We respect our elders. Seniors programs are led by seniors with dedicated volunteers and staff. Come meet new friends, share stories,  volunteer, learn English, and maintain health with good food, exercise and fun outings.

Food Programs Many nutritious food programs take place at Kiwassa, including  daily healthy snacks and meals for children and families, weekly family food bank for low income families, seniors lunches, cooking programs, daily coffee and community dinners.

Housing Kiwassa operates two family housing complexes of subsidized and market rent units for our community. Housing application forms are available and well as information about other housing resources in the community.

Community led programs We are pleased to share information with you about initiatives by residents and groups in our neighbourhood.   If you have something you would like to post, let us know. Check out the Neighbourhood Small Grants program, application deadline is March 31.
